The motorcycle manufacturers in Iran are ready for a better competition for the improvement of quality among motorcycle and parts in the country. Future in this industry is starting to look much more promising. According to the statistics, the production of motorcycles in excess of 249 CC is not permitted in the country & is not suitable for use in urban areas for safety and environmental reasons, and this type of motorcycle’s use is limited to be used on race tracks only. If the demand for these model Motorcycles increases, there could be a change in the policies to produce more. Iran mostly imports it’s motorcycle’s needs from China & Taiwan. During the last year Just around 100000 motorcycles were produced locally. There are some motorcycle & parts exports mostly to the neighbouring countries, however the prospects for more production & export of motorcycles in Iran is picking up for number of different reasons.
Most motorcycles manufactured in the country are built mainly to be used in the inner city. They come with a variety of brands and models that can suit the economics needs of all customers. Nowadays, all the companies producing in-town motorcycles are trying more to provide up-to-date technology to their customers, and the issue of power and acceleration and the quality of manufacturing components are solved in large companies such as Heda, Suzuki, TVS, Bojaj, … and the standards have been kind of set for other manufacturers to follow. The mid-size engines come in at least 125cc and have a maximum capacity of 220cc, with a minimum power of 12 and a maximum of 18 horsepower. Fortunately, in the past two or three years, the bigger and more reputable companies in Iran have been changing their policies to enhance the quality of their products, and with the current trends, things are starting to get better & better.
